Play Date with Josiah
Dear Asher,
I've noticed that you often mimic things that dad and I do. You have a particular way of saying, "Look at this mess!" that cracks me up every time because it copies my inflection almost perfectly. You also enjoy pretending to talk on the phone, as that is your dad's main occupation during the day. The person you most commonly get calls from or call on your imaginary phone is your friend Josiah.
I felt a twinge of guilt (as all mothers do) about you only being able to have imaginary conversations with Josiah recently, so I emailed his mom and we set up a play date for the two of you at the park. Upon arrival, you and Josiah fell immediately to the task of playing.
Then came running around.
After that, you and Josiah spotted something that needed intense scrutiny: A mud puddle.
It was getting rather hot outside, but it was obvious that you and Josiah were no where near done playing. So, we decided to take this play date to the cool confines of the mall. They have some rideable toys at the mall that you and Josiah spent many a happy moment playing on.
I could tell you enjoyed having someone your size to play with you.
All in all, a very successful play date.
Love,
Mom
