Z is for Zebra

Asher, Friend to Animals,

It's that time again - zoo time! The last time I recorded a zoo outting was back in 2007. We have been back many times since, but most times I forget to bring the camera. One time I was particularly disappointed I forgot the camera because you got the rare privilege of being able to pet an African porcupine named Homer. Alas, that memory is now only stored in my head. So this time, I grabbed the camera, along with Papa Bruce and Shima, and we all headed out for a fun afternoon.

Per normal, we always stop to look at the flamingos - since they are the first animal exhibit. Then it was off to the primate section!

You managed to get up close to a gorilla. He (or she - hard to tell) didn't pay you much attention at all.

You even gave us your best "primate" impression...

Deeper in the wilds of Africa, we came across a wart hog.

Then we spied the hippos.
Quite a lot of excitement for one afternoon! We decided to take a break and have what you now commonly refer to as a "cream cone."
Our last stop was at the duck / fish pond. Your very favorite place in the entire zoo. Probably because Papa Bruce always buys you a handful of duck feed to throw at the fish and fowl.

Love,
Mom
