It's a Zoo Out There

Asher-man!

The weather is warming.  Spring is on the way.  So what do we do when we can finally play outside again? We go to the zoo! So one warm Thursday afternoon, we called up Auntie George and the three of us went off to see the animals.

The first exhibit when entering the Rio Grande Zoo is the flamingos.  And you loved the flamingos.  Even though we looked at them for quite awhile, you were still distressed when we decided to move on.  Perhaps because you didn't know what other wonders the zoo held!
Our next stop was the rain forest. You were quite enamored with the monkeys we saw there.

After that, we went into the herpatorium, which is just a fancy way of saying the snake house. Your favorite in there was the turtles.

There was a whole lot of pointing and looking, for there were things at the zoo you had never seen before!
Like polar bears!
And zebras!

And gorillas! (It was a real meeting of the minds.)

There was still so much to see that we didn't have time for - like the elephants and the alligators.  Don't worry though, we'll be back more as the weather warms up.

Love,
Mom
