Battleship Rock to Jemez Falls - May 20, 2010
Our next stop was Battleship Rock, thus called because it looks like the bow of a mighty seagoing vessel. I didn't really get too many good pictures of it.
The best one I got was when I was shadowing Grandpa Kent.
I was more concerned about getting pictures of people.
After Battleship Rock, we drove up the road a bit to the trail head for Jemez Falls.
We all started the hike with the assurance that it was an "easy stroll." Well, I guess everyone's definition of easy is different. Grandma Carolyn gave Dex a helping hand at the beginning, but as the trail got steeper and rockier, she decided it would be better to just sit this one out.
Dex continued on with us becuase he managed to find an alternate form of transportation.
At last we reach the top and the magnificent falls! But as I soon discovered, for Asher and Dex the sight of the falls pales in comparison to the chance to play around in the water.
The babbling of the stream is as beautiful as a siren's song for Dex....
Asher and me, just above the falls.
Just one more adventure for the day...
