Firefighter vs. Celebrity Chef - September 15, 2009

Asher and I have a little "bit" going, wherein I ask him what he wants to be when he grows up. He promptly replies, "A firefighter!" And then I answer, "Are you sure? Wouldn't you rather be a celebrity chef?" And we go back and forth on what is the career option of choice. In the end we came to an understanding. Asher would be a firefighter first, and then a celebrity chef. That way, if he starts a fire in the kitchen, he knows how to put it out.

So when it was Firefighter Day at the State Fair, it was vitally important that we attend. Just so Asher keeps all his options open. As we strolled (marched) onto the fair grounds, Asher was a man with a plan. That plan? Play on the fire trucks!

 

Asher first introduced himself to the fireman on duty. He politely listened to him talk about his equipment and demonstrate how to put on his air tank. But all this was just preliminary. All this was just so he could get to the meat of the adventure.

 

Play on that fire truck! Hoo-ha!
