Nawlins Here We Come (And Go)!

Intrepid Traveler Asher,

Christmas time this year wasn't filled with Christmas cheer for our little family. You see, instead of visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, we had visions of palm trees, sandy white beaches, and clear blue water.  About 9 months ago, your dad and I decided it would be uber-fun to go on a cruise.  So as a Christmas present to you (and ourselves) we booked a trip to Mexico with Carnival Cruise Ships.  And after waiting, and saving, and dieting (for me anyway - gotta look good in that bathing suit!), the time finally arrived.  We headed out to New Orleans, Louisiana to begin our Christmas adventure!

When we arrived in New Orleans, it was cold, rainy and dreary.  The line to get on the boat seemed insurmountably long - especially since we had been traveling all day and were all very tired.  Luckily, because you were in a stroller, we got to take cuts and managed to get on the ship in short order.

Here are Dad and Papa Bruce as our ship pulls away from the dock.  You and I were downstairs resting up and getting warm.

The captain assured us that by the next morning we'd see sun and blue water as we chugged down the brown and cold Mississippi.  We can hardly wait because tomorrow is Christmas!

Love,
Mom
