A STATEly aFAIR

Asher,

Summer has given way to fall and you know what that means!  That's right - we're headed to the State Fair.  This year we met up with Papa Bruce and Shima too.

Per normal, there are several things we always have to see at the fair.  They include the School Kid's art exhibit, the Art Building, the Horse and/or Cow Barn, and the Red Barn.

But before we got on our way, we stopped to say hello to some Police-horses.

You were a bit leery, and I can understand it.  If an animal's head were as big as my whole body, I'd be leery too!

You, as always, had a great time at the Red Barn.  So many animals to see!  I think the baby ducks were your favorite, though you did find the turkeys pretty fascinating as well.
It was Law Enforcement day at the fair so there were a whole bunch of police cars and trucks.  There was even a helicopter! You had a blast crawling all over their equipment.
You even got to meet a police dog!
You checked in with Shima regularly to make sure she was having as much fun as you were.
One of the most amazing things we saw at the fair was a man taller than dad! You were quite impressed with this, because there aren't many people taller than dad.
To end our day, we ended up at the Asbury Pie Cafe.  You can't go to the State Fair and not have pie! It had been a long day for us by this time, so you opted for a nap instead of pie. Another successful trip to the fair!

Love,
Mom
