Which Way to Wichita - Abq. to OK City
Oh Grandson of Many,
Dad and I had determined at the beginning of 2007 that it really was time for you to meet your Grandpa Kent and Grandma Carolyn. They live in Washington, IA - which is quite a distance from Albuquerque! So, we started formulating a plan on meeting half way over Memorial weekend. Well, Memorial weekend snuck up on us and now we're off.
Our first leg of the journey was from home to Oklahoma City. While we could have "pressed on" and driven all the way to Wichita in one day, Dad and I are still trying to repress the memories of the road trip to Nebraska, so we decided to take the trip in small chunks. |
|
And since we decided to take our time getting there, it freed us up to do a little accidental tourism. Our first roadside stop was Cadillac Ranch just west of Amarillo, TX. It was a little muddy and windy, but we were determined to take a look. |
|
As is the custom, you even got to do a little spraypainting on the cars. |
|
It was definitely worth the stop! |

Tomorrow we see the sights of Oklahoma City! |
Loving You,
