Smile for the Camera! - December 25, 2008

Due to a variety of circumstances, the Dixon clan found themselves (well - mainly dad because he's the only one who had a job) gainfully unemployed this holiday season. But that's okay! We know that our God is faithful (as evidenced by this very season) and we shall overcome this trial. And anyway, Dad's previous job was more a nightmare than an actual career - but that's just me being honest.

So this year, the presents of our tree are a bit sparse. But Asher is stout of heart and pure of spirit and knows that Christmas isn't about getting tons of presents. Oh no, Christmas is about getting the one, perfect present! Er, I mean Asher knows that Christmas is all about remembering and acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice our Lord Jesus Christ made when he came to this earth to save us. (And getting the one, perfect present).

Luckily for me, Dexter doesn't know nor care one little bit about presents. Finding the one, perfect present for Asher this year took a lot of thought and a bit of thrift, but I think we nailed it. Let's see shall we:

What is mom? Oh what can it be!?	Anticipation! Anticipation!
I feel it! I'm gonna get it out!	Oh goodness, oh my - it's a CAMERA! Just for me!

 

And this is how we saw Asher for the rest of Christmas. But, when I think about it, this is how he saw me for the rest of the Christmas too - with a camera in front of my face!
