How Much Wood Would a Small Boy Chuck? - November 22, 2008
One bitterly cold morning in November, Asher, Dad, and cousin Jonethan decided to go up north and replenish our wood pile for the coming winter season. Where were mom and Dexter for this adventure, you ask? Where any sane people would be. In the safe, warm confines of their home sipping hot chocolate and breast milk.
Anyhow, the threesome set off with hopes high and coats warm for the shivery northern New Mexico mountains. There they found, courtsey of the Forest Service, many felled trees that they could chop up, load in the back of the truck, and bring home to burn.
While Asher valiantly offered to help Dad cut the wood with the chainsaw, Dad declined take him up on it. Apparently, Dad has these rules about having to be bigger than the dangerous piece of equipment in order to use it.
All in all, it was a very successful day and the Brothers Dixon (along with Mom and Dad) have benefited from the many warm fires provided by the outing.
