Holy Tradition - December 24, 2009
As in years gone past (2006 and 2008) we've gone down to Papa Bruces house for luminarias and a traditional New Mexican dinner. Well, this year was no different. Here we are in joyful anticipation of the fun we're gonna have.
To start, we all head out to the ditch to get the dirt for the bottom of the luminary bags. Papa Bruce keeps a careful eye on Dex, making sure he doesn't take an unintended tumble into the ditch.
Heading back with the load of dirt. As you can see, it is an absolutely gorgeous day for doing luminarias. While cool and crisp, the sun is out and there's no wind to worry about.
We all chip in filling the bags with sand. This is Asher's first time getting to help will all aspects of setting up the luminarias.
Next it's time to set out the luminarias with style and grace (seams to the back for all you newbies out there!).
And now, let Christmas commence!
