White Sand, Blue Water
Asher "Ahoy Matey" Dixon,
When we awoke the next morning, we were docked in Cozumel, Mexico. |
|
For reasons unknown, when we tried to disembark (sailor term for "leave the ship") there was a huge, long line and they weren't letting anyone off. It was cramped and the wait was a long one. About 20 minutes into our wait, you began to get a little upset at not being able to run around and you threw a minor fit. I ended up telling you that we all felt the same way you did, we just weren't allowed to express our feelings openly because we're adults now. That didn't seem to comfort you. Finally, we did get to leave our boat and head off to a private beach called Playa Mia.
After about a 20 minute bus ride, we finally arrived at our destination. It was well worth the wait! (If you look carefully, you can see you and Dad out in the water - Dad is waving to me.) |
|
The round blue and yellow thing out in the water was a trampoline. We swam out there and climbed up on it. You had an awesome time bouncing around and were even daring enough to jump off the side into Dad's arms!
The great big white thing was an inflatable rock climbing wall. I didn't go up it, but Dad managed to climb to the top then slide down the other side! |

At first you were a little uncertain of the surf. All this water rushing in at you and then rushing away.
But by the end of the day, you really loved it. And what's not to love? All the water and sand a little boy could want! |
After our play in the sand and surf, we returned to our beach chairs to relax in the shade a little bit. We had smeared you with SPF 50 sunblock, but we still tried to keep you out of the sun as much as we could.
Then we had lunch and wandered around the park a little bit. It was sure colorful! |
|
|
After lunch it was time for another dip in the ocean! And then our time at the beach came to an end. We had to leave to catch our bus back to the ship. We wouldn't want to miss it! |
Our ride back was very uneventful. You'd had a busy day and were quite ready to take a siesta!
Tomorrow Dad and I are going to go see some Mayan ruins while you play the day away with Papa Bruce. |
