The Tooth, the Whole Tooth, and Nothing But the Tooth

Dear Asher,

This morning when I had my hand in your mouth (don't ask - it's just something that all mothers do), I felt something that didn't feel soft and smooth like your gum.  I felt your first tooth!  So of course, like any mother, I whipped my finger out of your mouth and pushed down your little chin to take a look.  And there it was.

You find that chewing on the washcloth that I used to wipe the peas we had for dinner off your face very soothing.

Note the spatula, which you also find will do in a pinch.

I'm really quite spoiled with you, you know.  You haven't been particularly fussy or out of sorts.  Teething just hasn't been a big deal to you.  But, I may be speaking too soon.  Who knows what the next teeth will be like for us!

Love,
Mom
