Father's Day Picnic

Dear li'l Asher,

Today was the first time your dad got to celebrate Father's Day as a father himself.  I can't even tell you how excited your dad is to be your dad.  I remember when we first found out that you were on the way, he was so happy.  He couldn't wait to meet you.  In fact, he had been waiting a long time for you, because he wanted to be a dad for a very, very long time.

There are a few things I think you should know about your dad.  First, and most importantly, your dad loves God and tries to be a man of God. I admire and respect his strength of conviction and his desire to do what is right. We are very fortunate to have him.

Second, your dad is very kind and thoughtful.  He is a good provider and a good leader of our family.  And I believe that in the coming years he will be an excellent example to you.

I'm glad that he's your dad.  I trust him and I know that he will be a good father to you.

To celebrate Father's Day, we went up to the mountains to have a picnic. It was me, you, your dad, and my dad - Papa Bruce.

Quite an eventful picnic it was too.  We saw blue jays, a round robin with a red breast, a squirrel fond of grapes, some rangers on horse back, and a huge variety of bugs.  You had a good time, but were quite tired by the end of it all.

See, what a good daddy you have! Always looking out for you.

Love,
Mom
